I just received these and was shocked to find the quality so substandard based on the reviews. The handles had several dents on most of the pieces and the metal sleeve between the whisk wires and the handle wasn’t even closed all the way — there was about an eighth inch gap, plenty of room for gunk to get in but impossible to get out. The back side of the tools beneath the handles is hollow and the edges are almost sharp. The tools are very lightweight and some had what appeared like glue residue underneath the handles, as if the handles had been attached with glue. I’m returning the set.

Not long ago we updated all of our kitchen cooking utensils to either wood (bamboo) or stainless steel. We purchased this set of items to add on to our collection. They are nice for the price. Easy to clean, work well, and match our other stainless steel utensils, pots, and pans just fine. I would definitely buy these again for the price and quality of items that you recieve.

I can find nothing to take to task on the All-Clad tools. I have nearly all the tools they make and I like them all. They are easy to clean, no nooks for stuff to get stuck. They fit well in the hand and have a substantial, but not heavy, feel to them. Their shape is very good for the task at hand. The sole negative is their price but when balanced against the good, including the fact that they should last longer than the cook, they are a bargain at the price.

Restaurant-supply quality tools (overlooking that restaurant suppliers’ tools often aren’t twenty bucks a pop or quite as heavy). Their weight and the size of the spoons may take some getting-used-to, but as others have stated once you do anything of lesser quality just won’t do.Each tool’s handle is pierced for hanging, plenty long enough for stockpots, and stay cool. The turner is ridged with a beveled edge; unsuitable for serving up pie, but great for flipping burgers or scraping loose the fond when deglazing. The canister, by comparison, is too light-weight and tips if balance isn’t maintained, unlike the Le Creuset canister, which easily handles the weight of these five tools however they’re plunked in.

Update 8/25/07: I love this so much that I bought a second one! Now I have one for baking and another for everything else. When I cook big meals, I tire of having to rewash it.

This is my second bench scraper. The first was a single sheet of metal that curved to form a handle. The measurements were painted on it. I probably paid for it. After repeated use and trips to the diswasher, the measurements began to wear off and the bottom started to get uneven.

I am so thankful for this version by OXO! There’s the obvious sturdy handle, but what I love the most is that the measurements are etched instead of painted. I have to have the measurements because I use bench scrapers to measure the thicknes of dough in addition to cutting product (you’ll never cut brownies or bars again with a knife) and cleaning the board. This product is a lot heavier than my previous version and I like the weighty feel.

Yes, it’s good at what it does: scraping. As an added bonus, there are measurements on the scraper in case you really need to get precise with the dough you’re scraping off the counter. This thing does a great job of cleaning up the countertop after kneading bread and getting flour all over the place. So it really does do more than scraping: you can use it to divide dough, clean gunk off the counter, release sticky dough from a smooth countertop, measuring something that’s less than 4″ long, fight ninjas, etc.

I bought this funnel because I pour hot soup, spaghetti, stew, and other messy foods into a Thermos Stainless Food Jar W/ Folding Spoon 16oz twice a day. My conventional funnel is easily clogged, and neatly pouring hot soup directly from a pot into a thermos is a challenge. Pouring the soup from a pot into a large measuring cup and then into the thermos wasn’t much better, as the broth splashed out of the thermos whenever a chunk of meat or vegetable fell in.

My husband purchased this wide-mouth funnel and the spilling and splashing was instantly eliminated. This is the first time that I haven’t had to clean soup from the counter or the outside of a thermos food jar! Highly recommended for a tidy kitchen and to reduce the stress of packing hot, homemade meals to go.

Well worth the investment and come w/ a nice stainless steel container; but dropping stuff into it was noisy; so we added a cork circle inside the container & change it periodically. All in all a “regretless purchase”. Very Satisfied !

I am really a perfectionist so I would actually rate this 4.5 stars because of one gripe. I think the silicone handle grip could have been manufactured better; there are small imperfections along the edge of them. Also the silicone makes them stick to each other a bit as you store them in the crock. As for the metal, the shape and construction of it seems top quality. They have a nice heft to them with a thickness about 2mm. Great shape too for all the spoons. Definitely recommend it, and its a fantastic deal for what you get. The crock is nice too, but it does curve in a bit at the bottom making it a little less stable than it would be with straight walls.
