I ordered the Rachael Ray cookware, spoonula set, and spatula set after Christmas 2008. After using it for 3 months, I can’t say enough about how much I love the cookware (hard anodized) and spoonulas. The spatulas however are too flimsy to turn much more than an egg or pancakes. Mine are weak at the joint of the spatula and handle, making it dangerous if you’re turning anything weighty in hot grease as it lands on the other side and the spatula springs back in place once the weighted item is off. Although I am disappointed in not being able to use my spatula set for more than eggs or pancakes, I am absolutely, thoroughly, in love with my cookware and spoonulas.

I bought a whole bunch of Rachael Ray cookware (love it!) and other Rachael Ray products from Amazon and got these turners amongest them. I like these overall but found that the edge that goes under the food could have been sharper. It’s a little blunt which causes light foods to be pushed. For foods like burgers it’s fine but for light, round breakfast sausage it just pushes them around the griddle instead of sliding underneath. I use my other, more traditional, turners in that case which easily slide under the sausage for turning. If these were just a little thinner at the end then it would be a 5 star product.

The only thing bad I can say about these, is make sure they are rinsed very well before going in the dishwasher. They hold onto food chunks, butter, oil, etc. pretty bad. Other than that I can’t think of any other reason not to buy them. They have a good weight, are flexible enough to get into the curves of pans, and work great for making rice crispy treats.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a set.

these spoons are both great. the deeper ladle spoon is great for scooping up soup or just putting some pasta in a bowl. the lazy spoon is great because it allows you too cook and get things moving around, yet it also serves up nicely. they both had handles on the sides to hook onto your pots which is so convenient when you do not have extra space on your counter for more spoons. both clean easily!

**********after using these spoons not a whole lot. maybe about 4 times with the ladle spoon, i noticed that the back of the orange spoon is already starting to peel off. the rubber coating is slowly falling off. and i always hand wash these too.

Everyone was laughing at these spoons when I set them out on the edge of the bowls for people to use, but they soon discovered how great they were and were envious. No more looking for spoon holders, or grabbing the little plates to put them down on.

The deep spoon is great for pasta salads, sauces with chunks in it, soups, and other things where all you need is “one hearty spoonfull.” The less deep one is great for general stirring, cooking, getting just those special bit’s out of the pan, grabbing that lone meatball, or those slices of beef you have your eye on.

On a serious note, if you have arthritis, these might not be the best tools for you or to give as a gift to someone with arthritis. They are VERY heavy, and they could cause fatigue in weak hands/wrists, especially the large spoon (the thing I swear weighs like 3 pounds). And be careful, the slots on the spoons don’t fit EVERY bowl or pan, test it out before you put it on and walk away.

I would recommend these to anyone.

I like these tongs, and I would recommend them for use on “non slippery things.” Since these don’t have any grooves or “teeth” (rounded or not) they cannot hold onto things that are wet. IE, meats in marinade, chicken out of tray, flipping of firm fish. If they are remotely wet, you have to have a death grip on the meat, and then you could destroy it (trust me I have).

They are a good tong for flipping things on a baking pan, tossing pasta, or using as a mixing utensil if that happens to be the thing you grab without looking. They are very comfy in the hand as well. I would stick to the metal tongs for meat’s though, or another silicone tong that has groves that can hold onto wet things better.

I own a ton of spatulas and these are by far my favorite. they are thin & flexible, without being limp so that you can flip pancakes, omelettes, etc. easily or saute vegetables or meat effortlessly. They feel right in the hand and their long design allows you to maneuver right in there and get just the piece of food you need to flip. I love that it comes with a smaller one so that when I use my small 6-inch pan to cook for 1, it actually fits right in the pan. If they didn’t cost so much, I’d stock up on them, since I’m always sad when they’re in the dishwasher and I have to use an inferior one.

I grew up using the (you will cut yourself) swivel peeler. This is oh so much better! It swivels slightly & the tip for removing potato eyes is plastic, so you won’t cut yourself if trying to use it to peel jicama. I know most people would use a paring knife for that, but I have poor knife skills. On hard things like jicama, I can hold the tip for leverage. Awesome peeler!

I love this bench scraper. It’s large — 5 x 6 inches, including the handle — so some people might find it awkward. But I like that you can scoop up everything in one shot. The handle is comfortable, but what I like most is that the sides have an edge sloping down from the handle, so chopped food doesn’t fall off when you scrape it up off your cutting board. The shipping charge was outrageous — as much as the item itself — so I tried to find it locally (Kohl’s carries Rachel Ray items) but couldn’t. I got it for a Christmas present so I try not to think about the shipping rip-off.

I had purchased a Pampered Chef Mix N Scraper years ago and I have loved that thing, it’s perfect for everything I cook. Scrambled eggs, rice crispy treats, anything in a skillet really. Mine is starting to show some wear after 9 years, so I figured I needed to buy a new one. At .50 for a new one through Pampered Chef, I thought I better see what else is out there. I saw this RR spoonula set and was on the fence about ordering it because alot of the copy cat spoonula/spatula items were horribly made. Well, would you believe I found this set at Marshall’s for .99, snatched it up and it is the BEST. I would highly recommend this set.
