I was looking to upgrade my measuring spoons recently, and this innovative set caught my eye. Sometimes jumbling around a bunch of spoons on a ring can be a pain, so the idea of having them magnetically attached seemed like a great idea. The other features, such as having a bowl end and a narrow end, as well as having the measurements in both standard Tbsp/tsp and ml, were a nice bonus.

I have used this set for a few months now, and I am definitely happy with it. The magnets cling together well, and the whole set stays together easily. I have come to appreciate having the narrower end to dig into spice containers as well as having a clean bowl of the same size I just used.

The only drawbacks are the stainless steel isn’t as solid as I was hoping. You could easily bend these measuring spoons with your hands. Also, the magnets are strong enough to hold the set together, but not strong enough to attach to a refrigerator or anything like that. I was kind of hoping to save some space by sticking them on my fridge, but no such luck. Also, the magnets can attach themselves to unintended items, like a set of measuring cups.

It is not big deal, and these are really only minor annoyances. All in all these are a great set of measuring spoons and I would happily buy them again!

Have had these about a year of regular use (several times a week). Really like using these for the easy retrieval of a single size (as opposed to sets with rings) and double ends (good for dry and liquid for the same recipe). Also liked that it offered 1/2 tablespoon, which is not common. Unfortunately though, the metal is a little flimsy and one of the center plastic/magnet housings has come off. Also the measurements are just printed on and have started to rub off. Would have given these a higher rating if they had actually been made to last.

Compaired to other sets, you get more in this set for the same price or less without giving up quality. Plus, you can’t put stainless sets in the microwave to melt butter.

Pros:

1. Large set with odd sizes (like 3/4 cup)

2. I won’t likely use the really small (like 1/32 tsp) but they can be used as a flour leveler to scrape over the top with the larger cups.

3. Sizes are not printed/painted on so they won’t wear off

4. Weighted properly so that when I set it down they lay flat. My old set tipped over.

5. Nice mix of colors which makes them pretty but also makes it easier to tell close sizes apart.

6. The measures are in labled in cups and mL. No conversions.

The only thing I don’t care for is that they don’t stack together perfectly. The set is in 3 parts – 1 set of large cups, 1 set of medium cups and then a set of spoons.Each individual set stacks well, but when putting the 3 sets together they don’t nest perfectly. Minor detail, so it’s not worth subtracting a star over IMHO.

My last set of measuring cups had sadly dwindled down to 3 different sizes. It was getting difficult to measure 1/3 of a cup out of a 1/4 cup measuring cup. I found this set in my search, and it seemed interesting that it seemed to have a variety of sizes. Ah-ha! For someone whose sets seem to disapear with the socks and tupperware lids, it seemed great. (My personal theory is that aliens need these items to power their space ships . These cups are sturdy, ‘nest’ well, and stay that way. No spilling all over the cupboard because they were touched. And the number of sizes makes recipies easy! Having just 2 people to feed in our home means reducing recipies, and this set has sizes that will actually allow us to measure odd amounts.

Solid piece of cooking gear. Cleans up very well after sticky, gooey syrup. I like this and the measuring scoops. I believe in spending a little bit more on good kitchen gear, and I would not hesitate to buy this again, and look forward to giving it as a gift, too.

I bought these because they are made of metal – I was tired of my plastic measuring spoons flying around in the dishwasher. But since they are metal, when I’m measuring oil or anything else light in color, it’s hard to see the amount of liquid in the spoon.

I’ve had these spoons and the measuring cups for less than a year. We registered for them last year and received them as a gift. In just a few months, the labels on each of them had worn away. I had heard that Oxo had a lifetime satisfaction guarantee on all of their products and I confirmed this by looking at their website. After calling customer service and answering a few questions about the product, they offered to send me replacements FREE, and I didn’t have to send the old ones back. I now have two new sets. I’m sticking with OXO products in the future

I’ve had these measuring spoons for a couple of years now. The size labels have worn away on the spoons used most often. At first I thought it was because I put them in the dishwasher. However, another has disappeared even though I’m now washing them by hand. The spoons are also rather wide, making them difficult to fit into spice jars. Overall, I’m disappointed in the set.

A great idea. I bought these about a year ago (an all-white set from Crate and Barrel, but same brand) and tossed out my stainless attached-with-a-ring set. I can grab the spoon I need and not have to wash the whole set. And the oval-shaped end is great for fitting into the mouthes of spice jars. A lovely gift for your favorite baker.

What could be better? You won’t lose them in your drawer (because they stick together magnetically), they’re easier to handle and separate easier than spoons connected by a ring, and you can save on clean up because you won’t need to use 2 different teaspoons if a recipe calls for, say, 1 teaspoon of this and then another teaspoon of that. You can use the same spoon because there are two separate ends to use. (I should seriously buy stock in Progressive Int’l. They make the best and most useful kitchen items! And, no, I don’t work for them.)

My spouse and I were very excited to get these spoons as a wedding gift, and have been using them in the kitchen. Just recently, we started noticing that the spoons did not look proportional to each other. Upon calibration, it was discovered that some of the spoons are not as large as they state! The tablespoon actually holds about 2/3 of a tablespoon, and the 1/4 teaspoon holds only about 1/6 of a teaspoon (both are 67% of the stated size). The 1 and 1/8 teaspoons appear to be right on, and the 1/2 and 3/4 teaspoons just a smidgen small. We have concluded that the tablespoon and 1/4 teaspoon are too far off to use in recipes…if the recipe allows for that much error, then why measure at all?

I bought this set of measuring spoons to supplement a set with perfectly round spoons which simply did not fit into the openings of almost every major brand’s bottle of powdered spices. After several years of frustration, I finally got this set and have been happy ever since. I still have the older set, as the big tablespoon size is just a bit easier to level off when measuring baking soda and baking powder than the elongated design, but overall, the skinnier shape is almost always an advantage.

These measuring spoons are a great value for the price. I am considering purchasing a second set. I like the size as they fit easily into the baking powder & baking soda containers. They are also sturdy. Unlike my original set, it will take a lot of pressure to bend these.

My one complaint is that the handles seem rather sharp on the edges & if you have dry skin I think it will be easy to get paper cut style cuts on your fingers. If they’d polished/rounded the edges a little more this set would be perfect.

This set is just what I needed. It has the right measurements for most bread machine recipes; it’s heavy and substantial with nice long handles that are easy to hold and provide a nice counterweight to eliminate tip-overs when it’s laid on a flat surface; it cleans up easily; it has measurement markings that are easy to read; and has a ring to hold the set together that’s easy to open and close.

Theres not alot I can say about measuring spoons really. They are made to a high standard, durable, easy to clean and dishwasher safe. At this price I dont see why you would need to pay more for a set of measuring spoons unless it was for decorative reasons.

As long as it measures correctly, why pay more for a set of measuring spoons? Now that I have them, I don’t know how I got along without them in the past. They are really easy to clean – which is sooo important when you have a complex recipe calling for a lot of ingredients!
